Police are asking for help to identify the body of a man found in a river near Rotorua yesterday afternoon.
Kayakers found the body in Kaituna River, downstream from the Okere Falls bridge on State Highway 33.
Police said the body might have been in the water for several days or longer, but they have no other information as to how the man came to be in the water or how he died.
The man appeared to be Caucasian, short and of medium build, and was found clothed in a checked long-sleeve shirt, long dark pants and blue running shoes.
