A man is in a critical condition at Middlemore Hospital after a fight at a bar in Manurewa last night.
He sustained serious head injuries in a fight at the Backyard Bar on Great South Road about 3am.
Police said when officers arrived there was a large group fighting, with the victim lying unresponsive on the ground.
A scene examination is under way.
