Police have identified the man whose car plunged into Auckland Harbour yesterday.
Police and emergency rescue crews pulled the man's body, along with the white car, from the water near Auckland Harbour Bridge about 10.30pm yesterday.
Emergency crews were on the scene within minutes of being called by bystanders about 7.20pm at Westhaven Drive near the marina. The location of the car was discovered about two hours later.
Fire crews stripped off and jumped in to the water to reach the car, police said. Earlier, police said the car was in the water with reports of one person trapped inside.
Police said the man's family had been notified and were being supported.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
