Power has been restored to nearly 2000 central Auckland properties after lines came down.
The lines company Vector Energy said they had a call from a customer about 4pm saying electricity lines had dropped down in their driveway.
Freeman's Bay is most affected.
Vector can't yet say why the lines came down or how long it will take to restore power.
They say to check their website for updates.
