The driver of a truck and trailer unit has died after it rolled at a quarry near Tauranga this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the quarry on Kaitemako Road in Welcome Bay just before 2pm.
The accident happened while it was emptying gravel.
The driver died at the scene.
A serious crash investigation is underway and WorkSafe has been informed.
Today's death brings the total number of quarry fatalities since 2011 to six.
