A driver has died in a crash between a car and a truck in Waihi this afternoon.
The crash happened on State Highway 2 near Dean Crescent just before 2.30pm.
The person died at the scene, the other driver was not seriously injured.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the road will be closed for some time.
Detours are in place down Waitawheta Road, which is between Paeroa and Waihi.
Access to Waihi is limited and motorists are asked to avoid travel.
