A 41-year-old man has appeared in Manukau District Court charged with the murder of Arishma Chand in her Manurewa home.

Ms Chand, 24, was killed early on Sunday morning after returning home from a party with her boyfriend.
Shortly after her boyfriend left the house Ms Chand called her parents because she was worried someone was outside.
When her parents arrived 20 minutes later they found her dead in a bedroom.
On Tuesday evening police arrested a man from Flat Bush.
The man has interim name suppression and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in the High Court early next month.
