Northbound lanes on Auckland's Southern Motorway are now open after a truck jack-knifed across them and blocked traffic earlier this afternoon.

The Transport Agency says the truck has been pulled to the side and recovery teams have cleaned up a diesel spill near the Papakura off ramp.
But it says traffic is backed up on the motorway in both directions and motorists should expect delays.
The agency is asking motorists to avoid the area if possible or delay travel.
