The Government is to invest $18.85 million in eight new cycle trails.
The projects are in Taupo, Hawke's Bay, Opotiki, Nelson, Westport, Mount Cook, Queenstown and Clutha.
Work on the trails will begin this summer.
Acting Tourism Minister,Jonathan Coleman says 80% of the New Zealand cycle trail funding has now been committed.
He says the ministry is investigating four further trails and it will make a decision on those by the end of October.
