The upturned Parauroa was located about 1:35pm.
The Maritime Police and the Coastguard searched the area but have not found any sign of anyone with the boat, and at this stage no one has been reported missing. On Monday evening, the search was called off and there was no evidence of a missing person, police said.
The police have asked anyone with information to contact the Maritime Unit.
