One person has died after a car and motorcyle collided at an intersection on Christchurch's Port Hills today.

Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Summit Road and Dyers Pass Road shortly after 5pm.
One other person has serious injuries after the crash.
The road is closed and traffic is being diverted down Hackthorne Road.
