A 75-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in residential Alexandra this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Ventry and Clutha Streets, in the Central Otago town, about 12.45pm.
A St John spokesperson said a 75-year-old woman was taken to Dunstan Hospital following the crash.
Police said the woman had died, but they would not comment on the cause of the crash.
No one in the other vehicle was injured.
The collision occurred in a 50kmh residential zone.
Police have asked motorists to avoid the area, and the serious crash unit is at the scene.
