The "Hungry Fox" restaurant in Foxton has been badly damaged by fire this morning.

Fire and Emergency said fire broke out at the restaurant on the corner of State Highway 1 and Thynne Street just before 5am.
Five trucks were needed to put out the blaze, which left the building extensively damaged.
No one was in the restaurant at the time.
Fire investigators were on the scene this morning.
