Dunedin seeks feedback on 10-year plan

Dunedin City Council is calling for feedback on a 10-year spending plan, which includes a 7.3 percent rates hike in the first year.

In addition to the coming year's rates increase, the council proposed average rates rises of 4.5 percent over the following nine years.

Dunedin mayor Dave Cull said Dunedin was humming, and investment was needed to deliver on the city's promise.

Mr Cull said the city was competing with others for people, jobs and businesses, so the rates rise would be necessary for more spending.
