Thousands of passengers have been delayed at Auckland Airport after a security incident at the international terminal.
AvSec said screening stopped for 3000 passengers while police searched for a woman who was carrying a knife.
A spokesman said the knife was still in the woman's bag when she was found, and so there's no need to clear the terminal.

Mike Richards from Avsec said information from Customs helped identify the woman and AvSec regrets the inconvenience caused by suspending security screening, which has now resumed.
Police said there are significant delays.
