Police have spoken to a man and a woman who were being sought earlier this week, but are yet to identify four other people who may be able to help with inquiries.

The images were taken from CCTV cameras at Auckland retail stores.

Nyika's car was broken into last month and his medal and some vouchers were stolen.

Detective Sergeant Paul Slater said police are seeking help from the public.

"Obviously a Commonwealth Games medal is very distinctive and of huge personal significance to the victim and his family, and we want to see it returned.

"We believe someone will know who the people in these photographs are, and we urge them to get in touch with us."

Nyika said the worst thing about his medal being stolen was that it happened in his home town of Hamilton.
