The parents of a New Zealand surfer found dead in suspicious circumstances on a popular Bali beach are meeting with investigators on Thursday.

The body of Jordan Lucas was found on Uluwatu beach in the Bendung district by a fisherman last week.

Police are treating his death as a homicide because of his injuries, which reportedly included a crushed head and injuries to his thighs.

Family friend Robert Kirkwood spoke with Mr Lucus' parents on Thursday afternoon and says they have not received an autopsy report yet, despite some media reports of one being completed.

Mr Kirkwood says Mr Lucas' parents are meeting with the head of forensics and the commanding police officer on Thursday afternoon local time, when they hope to find out more details about the circumstances their son's death.
