Boushra Rahman appeared at the High Court in Auckland today by audio-visual link from the clinic.

Ms Rahman initially admitted the killing in 2008 but later changed her story, accusing another family member of stabbing her sister.

Ms Rahman confirmed she helped take her sister's body to the back garden where petrol was poured on the body and set alight.

Justice Woolford said the case has had a protracted history.

He said health assessors had found Ms Rahman had an intellectual disability and a personality disorder and was not fit to stand trial.

He remanded Ms Rahman as a special patient for the safety of the community, to stop her self-harming and so she could get treatment for a maximum period of 10 years.
