Investigators are trying to find the cause of a house fire in Dunedin this morning.

Fire crews were called to the Beechworth Street property, in the North East Valley, shortly after 5am and found the house engulfed in flames.
It took a couple of hours to put the fire out.
The house has been severely damaged but nobody was injured. One appliance remains at the scene along with the fire investigators.
