Two people overdue from a gold prospecting trip have been found safe and well near Collingwood in Golden Bay on Tuesday afternoon.
Concerns were raised when Wellington man Howard Eastment, 66, and an unnamed woman did not return from the Rocky River area in Bainham.
Their food supplies were thought to have run out.
However, a Nelson helicopter found the couple camped beside the river, healthy and with enough provisions.
Police say they no longer have any concerns for the pair.
