River boarding director remanded over tourist death

The director of a Queenstown river boarding company has been remanded again in court over the death of a British tourist.

Emily Louise Jordan was caught beneath rocks while river boarding on the Kawarau River in April last year.

Brad Alexander McLeod and his company Black Sheep Adventures face charges relating to the Health and Safety Act laid by Maritime New Zealand.

Each of the charges carries a maximum penalty of $250,000.

Mr McLeod was remanded in Queenstown District Court on Monday to appear on 23 March.
