Christchurch police are looking for a man who tried to kidnap a teenage girl.
Detective James Simpson says the 16-year-old girl was walking along Stanmore Road on Monday afternoon when a blonde-haired man tried to pull her inside his van.
Police say the man pulled over his black van and whistled at the girl, who thought he was wanting to ask directions.
When she told him to go away the man grabbed her and began to pull her through the window, but let go after she struggled.
Mr Simpson says police would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time.
