A survey has named Wellington as the cleanest and greenest New Zealand city.
The TopSpot report was commissioned by the ASB Bank and measured 12 cities against 10 criteria.
Report author Stephen Hart says Wellington was a clear winner and the city came out top in three of the green criteria being measured, including ease of access to public transport.
In second place was Rodney District followed by Dunedin City.
Tauranga City and Manukau were rated the least green of the 12 cities.
Mr Hart says the report is relevant as more and more New Zealanders are concerned about the environment, protecting it and being as ecologically sensitive as possible.
