A man was to appear in Christchurch Distrct Court on Wednesday, after a police pursuit that ended in a serious car crash.
The man is charged with failing to stop, dangerous driving causing injury, driving while disqualified, refusing to give a blood sample and using insulting language.
The charges follow the pursuit through Christchurch late on Tuesday.
The police car involved lost sight of the vehicle and gave up the chase, but several minutes later a member of the public reported that a vehicle had crashed into a tree.
Three of the occupants were injured and one had to be cut from the wreckage.
