The Department of Labour has begun an investigation after a man died while working at a plastics factory in Canterbury.
Emergency services were called to the RX plastics factory in Tinwald, near Ashburton, about 2am on Wednesday.
The department says it understands Alexander Cooper, 24, of Ashburton became trapped in machinery.
Police say the matter has been referred to the Coroner.
