Up to a dozen residents at Waikawa Bay near Picton have been allowed back into their homes following a bush fire on Wednesday.
The blaze, which burnt through 20 hectares of scrub, threatened houses in Arthur and Amela crescents on Wednesday.
Multiple fire crews and two helicopters contained the fire, which broke out at 2.20pm.
Fire officers are dampening down hot spots.
