The T2 traffic lanes on State Highway 1 north of Wellington are to be scrapped after a joint agreement between the New Zealand Transport Agency and the Porirua City Council.
The agency says the lanes will be changed to clearways on Mana Esplanade.
High operating expenses and driver confusion are the reasons.
