Domestic passenger numbers at Wellington airport fell 12.6% in February, compared with the same month last year.
Infratil says the drop was due to weak demand and reductions in
capacity by Qantas. The comparisons were also against what it calls "extraordinary growth" following Pacific Blue's domestic entry in early 2008.
International passenger numbers were 0.5% higher than the same month a year earlier.
