A man who fled the Manukau District Court last week by pretending to be another prisoner who was due to be released, has appeared in court and been remanded in custody.
Kidnap accused Ollies Siaea was recaptured at a house in Otara on Wednesday night.
He made a brief appearance on Thursday morning charged with escaping while in custody. He nodded and smiled to family in the public gallery.
Mr Siaea will next appear in court on 13 May.
