In Hastings, police will on Saturday morning examine the site of a caravan fire that began about midnight.
Police say the caravan was unoccupied and was on private property in the suburb of Mayfair, close to the centre of the town.
Meanwhile, in Christchurch, it took four fire crews to put out an overnight blaze in a warehouse in the central suburb of Woolston.
