Submissions on Auckland - Hamilton rail service wanted by lobby group

A lobby group is trying to drum up submissions to the Waikato Regional Council over an Auckland - Hamilton rail service.

The Campaign for Better Transport claims there is a great demand for such a service.

However, there is no mention of it in a draft land transport programme produced by the council.

The group says Silver Fern railcars will become available in July and the regional council should act soon if it wants to use them.

It hopes the council may change its mind if enough people make submissions about it.
