Suppression of name lifted in axe killing

A man charged with murder in Auckland following an incident involving an axe, can now be named.

Preston Rameka, 28, is accused of murdering Terrance Finch, 55, at his home in Aveline Place, Glen Innes, earlier this month.

He has been remanded in custody and will reappear in the Auckland District Court on 29 June.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Cramer has confirmed an axe was used in the attack.
