Cause of Dunedin teen's sudden death unknown

Police investigating the sudden death of a Dunedin teenager say there are still too many unanswered questions to determine the cause of death.

James Paul Cessford, 19, was reported missing by family members early in April and his body was found four days later on a neighbour's property.

Police were baffled because he had no injuries and a post-mortem examination failed to pinpoint what killed him.

Detective Senior Sergeant Steve McGregor says preliminary toxicology results have indicated chemicals in his system, although the quantities have not yet been determined.
