Homicide inquiry into North Shore stabbing

7:22 pm on 12 May 2009

A man whose body was discovered on Auckland's North Shore died from a stab wound, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

North Shore police were called to View Road in Glenfield on Monday after reports that Paul Chong, 51, had been assaulted.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby says police found Mr Chong's body outside an industrial and commercial workshop. A homicide inquiry has begun.

Mr Libby says two males are known to have called at a local workshop before police arrived.

The pair were seen leaving the scene in a car believed to be a white or pale-coloured sedan similar to a Subaru Legacy.

North Shore police are appealing to anyone who was near View Road and who saw any suspicious activity to contact them.
