Two people have been arrested following a fight and an Armed Offenders Squad callout in Balclutha in south Otago.
Trouble started between two groups outside Rosebank Lodge Hotel early on Friday morning but details have only just been released.
Police broke up the fight but the two parties moved off and started fighting elsewhere.
Officers say one of the group then threatened to get a gun out of the boot of his car.
The Armed Offenders Squad later searched a suspect's home for a weapon but no firearm was found.
Two men are under arrest and police are appealing for witnesses.
