The Firefighters Union does not like a decision to reduce the number of fire engines responding to some buildings in Auckland.
The Fire Service currently sends four pump engines and two aerial ladders to buildings with sprinklers in Auckland, but from next month, it will send two engines.
The union says this reduces the number of firefighters responding to a callout from 22 to eight.
Auckland president Jeff McCulloch says it will result in firefighters taking longer to search buildings.
