A house fire in Rotorua, in which people were initially thought to be trapped, has been put out.
The Fire Service was called to the Kawaha Point Road address at about 4.30pm on Sunday.
Fire Service spokesperson Scott Osmond says two bedrooms at the house were well ablaze when crews arrived.
He says the fire has since been put out, and reports by members of the public of people trapped were found to be incorrect.
