Police in Hastings have two men in custody after officers were attacked during a routine disorder callout.
Police say they received a call from residents in Flaxmere Avenue at 5am on Thursday about someone breaking windows in the area.
Officers say they were approached by two angry men who bore down on them with weapons.
The men were pepper sprayed, but took off.
Two suspects were found a short time later at a Flaxmere Avenue house and have been arrested.
