Police reveal identity of dead prostitute

9:41 pm on 17 June 2009

The identity of an Auckland prostitute whose body lay in her home for a month has been revealed by police who hope the move will bring fresh information about her killing.

Thai prostitute Nuttidar Vaikaew, 49, worked from her house in Warwick Street, Western Springs.

Her body was found in May and police have charged a man who lived at the same address with her murder.

The accused appeared in Auckland District Court again on Wednesday and has continued name suppression.

However, suppression of Ms Vaikaew's name has been lifted.

Police say she was known professionally as Sky.

They would like to speak to any of her clients, particularly those who visited her just before she died on 17 April.
