Name suppression continued in murder hearing

1:10 pm on 24 June 2009

Name suppression has been continued at the Auckland District Court for a man charged with murdering a prostitute.

The woman, Nuttidar Vaikaew, 49, worked from her home in Western Springs, Auckland.

Her body may have been in her home for more than a month.

The accused's layer said his client had a history of substance abuse and psychosis and was at risk of killing himself if name suppression was lifted.

Judge Lindsay Moore agreed to continued suppression of his name, but warned that may not be permanent.
