A South Auckland woman has been ordered to repay $9220.94 she embezzled from a charitable trust which funds sports coaches in schools.

The Employment Relations Authority has ruled Deita Lee Sorenson illegally transferred money from an All Sports Coaching Incorporated bank account into her own, for personal use.

Ms Sorenson was in charge of managing the internet banking and payroll accounts for the trust, which provides coaching services to schools in South Auckland.

She was ordered to repay $9220.94 the authority says she illegally took from the account.

A representative for the trust told the authority that Ms Sorenson's actions came to light after she left the company and an audit was done.
