An accident with a gas heater appears to be behind the death of an elderly woman in Dannevirke.
The 90-year-old's body was found outside her home, but police at this stage do not believe her death is suspicious.
They say the early indication was that the woman had been warming her clothes for the day by the heater when her dressing gown caught fire.
It seems she made her way through the house and collapsed on the back doorstep.
Police are continuing their inquiries.
