Police officers investigating the disappearance of Auckland woman Carmen Thomas have been questioning motorists about a possible sighting of her car.
The 32-year-old has not been seen since 27 June and is presumed dead.
Officers on Wednesday talked to drivers on Sandstone Road, east of Auckland, about possible sightings of Ms Thomas' dark Nissan Pulsar hatchback.
Police say they received information at the weekend that the car may have been parked in the vicinity of Whitford in late June or early July.
About half a dozen officers were at the roadblock for several hours, from 6.30am, but with a backlog of traffic often building up the police frequently waved motorists through.
Ms Thomas' car was found abandoned, with blood inside it, in Hamilton on 13 July.
A wheelie bin from her Remuera home remains missing.
