A search is under way for a Thai overstayer who fled police in Te Puke.
Payeo Chaimat, 26, is one of a group of three men whose temporary permits to work on an orchard in Marlborough expired in August 2008.
Western Bay of Plenty area commander Inspector Mike Clement says the police and immigration officials searched a rural property on Tuesday night and captured two of the men.
Mr Clement says Mr Chaimat was wearing a light grey top, grey trousers and shoes when last seen running away through a nearby orchard.
