Chocolate sex products taken off shelves

A chain of adult entertainment stores has removed a range of chocolate products from its shelves after a melamine alert overseas.

The British Food Standards Agency says Chinese-made "I Love You" body pens and spreads have a high, though not dangerous, presence of melamine.

The European Union requires products with more than 2.5 milligrams of melamine per kg to be destroyed.

The "I Love You" sets contain up to 259 milligrams.

On Tuesday, a chain of five adult entertainment shops in New Zealand said it had found it had either the body pens or other unidentifiable spreads for sale.

Owner John Frew said he would be in touch with his supplier and the Ministry of Health "first thing this morning" to clarify the situation.

The Food Safety Authority says describes the public health risk as low, but says it's begun making inquiries about the product.
