Ryman Healthcare is intending to build a $90 million retirement village near the Christchurch suburb of St Albans.
Once complete, the village will house over 450 residents, and employ more than 150 staff.
Ryman already operates 21 retirement villages and is planning others in Gisborne and Dunedin.
