The New Zealand under-20 women's football team conceded a goal in extra time to lose 3-2 to Nigeria in their opening match at the FFIA World Cup in Chile.
Nigeria led 2-0 in the first half, but Ria Percival scored either side of the break to level the scores.
Both sides had chances to win the match in the last 20 minutes.
New Zealand still have group matches against Chile and England to play.
