Police in Tauranga are searching for two young girls after they failed to turn up to school on Monday.
Tahani Grewal, 8, and Korutaiheke Tai, 12, were reported missing after leaving their home in Welcome Bay on Sunday.
Shortly before 7pm the girls went to a nearby house where they asked the occupant if they could stay, before leaving soon after.
That was the last time either girl was seen and police want to hear of any sightings since.
