Police in South Auckland say a fatal house fire in Otahuhu was not suspicious.
The Fire Service was called out to a unit in an area of pensioner housing in High St at 11.40pm on Tuesday.
A number of elderly people were treated for smoke inhalation.
Police say they may have to wait for a post-mortem to formally identify the dead man, due to the condition of his body.
