The Auckland Starlight Symphony is still seeking a sponsor to save the concert.
The annual event in Februay is under threat because the main sponsor, SkyCity, has pulled out.
SkyCity made annual contributions of about $500,000.
Executive producer Alan Smythe says reports a new sponsor has been found are untrue.
While there are various people out there who would like to help, he says they cannot do much in reality as it is a very big sponsorship.
